Ashram Munivara

One lives in harmony with nature and life, allowing the body, emotions and mind to develop and undergo their natural cycles in a most positive way.

Ashram Munivara

Ashram Munivara was founded by Ketut Arsana with blessings from Maha Guru.

The word 'Muni' means ‘Sage’, 'Munivara' in Sanskrit means, ‘Sage or Yogi who gives great service’. The practices at Ashram Munivara are dedicated to the teachings of Lord Siva, which are based on Jnana Buddha Siva (Buddha Siva Knowledge) in Bali. These sacred teachings and practices are taught and guided by Ketut Arsana.

Holy shrines have been built in Ashram Munivara dedicated to the Supreme Lord for daily practices and ceremonies on auspicious or holy days. Ashram Munivara is a place to learn all forms of yoga.

Yoga is the source of spirituality,
and spirituality is the basis of all religions.
Yoga is the way to God.

Yoga
‘Union’ – the methods by which this goal is attained.
There are various types of Yoga methods to bring us to oneness with God. The four main paths are: Bhakti Yoga – the path of devotion; Jnana Yoga – the path of wisdom; Karma Yoga – the path of action; and Raja Yoga – the path of discipline. To guide us through these teachings we need a Guru, one who has experienced the true path to God and has reached an advanced level of knowledge.
Guru
‘Giver of light’ – gives light to the dark.
In this capacity, the Guru is the Maha Guru who lifts up your soul, who gives light to your darkness, and who invites you to follow the spiritual process in stages in order for your soul to recognize its true self.
Ashram
‘Place of Striving’ – from 'sram', ‘To Exert Energy’.
A hermitage; ‘order of life’. An Ashram is a holy sanctuary and teaching centre for activities for the disciple. This is a place for the Guru to connect with the people and can be a place of residence for the Guru and lodging for students. In the Ashram, learning never ends. We need to continue spiritual learning all of our lives.
